Mary Kuzyk  Concertmaster

As concert mistress of the Shevchenko Mandolin Orchestra since 1956, and the Ensemble's assistant Conductor from 1982-1994, Mary has been an outstanding contributor to the artistic identity of the Shevchenko Musical Ensemble. Mary played a leading role in both Ensemble concert tours of Ukraine in 1970 and 1989. In 1993 the Ensemble honoured Mary for her more than 50 years performing, teaching, and conducting and the Canadian Government recognized her achievements by bestowing upon her the Canada 125 medal.
